Meeting Design Week in Dubai
This will be a week of innovation in business and education where Meeting Design is introduced. Lecturers will benefit from Meeting Design Techniques and will be encouraged to identify, educate and foster Meeting Design talent. There will also be a number of networking opportunities between creative talents in businesses, the university and independent professionals.

Meeting Design
Meeting Designer is a relatively new profession. Meeting Designers are professionals who work with meetings as a specific means of communication.
Their task is to bring content, objectives and participants’ expectations together, designing a programme that is effective, engaging and conducive towards the organizational objectives.
They work for the Meeting Owner and often partner up with PCO’s, AV Companies, Speakers and Facilitators. Their final consumers are the meeting participants.
Their clients’ desires are the design compass by which they sail.

MD Certified Level 1 Course
- 7-8 October 2019: The Meeting Design Certified Level 1 Course
The Meeting Design Week brings an MD certification Level 1 two-day course to Dubai. The courses will be open to professionals like meeting planners, trainers, consultants, corporate communication managers, live communication designers. They will have the opportunity to dive deep into the nature of meetings, and how to design them.
- 9 October 2019: Evening: A Certification and Networking Event
A closing network event brings meeting planners, academics and corporates together, to embrace design thinking and empower the creative potential of a city.
Meeting Design Kick-Off

The Meeting Design Week offers the opportunity to apply Meeting Design on an actual event that is on the agenda in the city. This Meeting Design Kick-Off meeting is open for corporate organising teams. The team will identify all the parameters needed to create a great program.
Lesson Design

Lesson Design
Meeting Design techniques help to create engaging educational sessions. In the Meeting Design Week, a University will host a novel Lesson Design workshop for academic teachers. In the workshop, the attendees will redesign a lesson following the innovative methodology of the MindMeeting Keycards.

Eric de Groot
Eric is one of the first Meeting Designers. His pioneering work started in 1992; now he caters to the national (Dutch) market in De Wet van Thomas and internationally in MindMeeting. Thanks to his background in the drama he takes a broad, human perspective to meetings and meeting processes.
Eric regularly conducts workshops and learning sessions for professionals in the meeting industry as well as in other educational contexts. Eric was also a former member of the MPI task force: “The Future of Meetings”.
He lives in the Netherlands.
